Section 22: Alumni Relations Chairman


The tradition of Tennessee Kappa since 1879 as the “jewel in Minerva’s crown” is unparalleled. This key position must ensure we honor and recognize the strength of our alumni base.


The Alumni Relations Chairman will:


  1. Chair the Alumni Relations Committee.


  1. Be the primary point of contact with the Alumni Association representative.


  1. Ensure an alumni newsletter update is issued by March 1 and October 1.


  1. Support a robust and accurate alumni database.


  1. Ensure the fall alumni weekend is selected by April 1 and alumni are notified by May 1, and the spring alumni weekend is selected by October 1 and the alumni are notified by November 1.


  1. Ensure there is an annual Founders Day Celebration each Spring and the alumni are notified well in advance.


  1. Identify any legacy new member prospects in their senior year of high-school and communicate this to the Recruitment Chairman well in advance of the recruitment period.


  1. Create a mechanism to track Brothers Eternal and notify the alumni base.


  1. Ensure there is an annual celebration of the oldest living Tennessee Kappa alumni.


  1. Ensure there is an active Minerva’s Club.


  1. Not commit the chapter to any contract, whether written or verbal or otherwise, nor has any spending authority whatsoever.
