Eminent Recorder

Section 4: Eminent Recorder


The importance of ensuring the order and the capturing of what actually happens in meetings is crucial. The Eminent Recorder’s responsibility requires diligence and truth. What is said, must be captured and documented in writing. When this position is done correctly, disputes diminish.


The Eminent Recorder will:


  1. Call the roll at all chapter meetings, keep an accurate account of absent and late members, and submit records to the Eminent Treasurer immediately following each meeting.


  1. Serve on the Executive and Finance Committees.


  1. Take minutes for all meetings, typing and distributing the minutes to all active members.


  1. Make all changes to the Bylaws within one week of adoption.


  1. On each Sunday, post a day-to-day schedule of fraternity events for the current week, plus any large events that may be upcoming and require advance notice (philanthropy events, formals, date parties, etc.); be responsible for collecting all event information from active members and officers.


  1. Not commit the chapter to any contract, whether written or verbal or otherwise, nor has any spending authority whatsoever.


  1. Perform all duties set forth in the National Laws, Title VII, Article 53, Section C.
