Section 16: Social Chairman


The Social Chairman should ensure there are significant quality and quantity of brotherhood events, especially emphasizing events off campus, so much so that Tennessee Kappa is viewed as having the strongest social calendar on campus. This is key to ensuring that Tennessee Kappa is highly attractive to new members and of high value to existing members.


The Social Chairman will:


  1. Plan and coordinate all social activities of the fraternity to ensure they are within budget.


  1. Head the Social Committee.


  1. Hold an interest meeting at the start of each calendar semester for those interested in participating in the social committee; select two active member representatives from each class to become members.


  1. Set up, to the best of his ability, the social calendar by the first day of school each semester, which should be completed as soon as possible.


  1. Make sure there are plenty of cups at parties at all times.


  1. Arrange safe, effective, and affordable transportation for any off-campus events.


  1. Not commit the chapter to any contract, whether written or verbal or otherwise, for the amount of $500.00 or more without specific approval of the Eminent Archon.


  1. NOT go over budget for any reason.


  1. Turn in a budget to the Eminent Treasurer by the beginning of each semester; this budget will be an estimate and it is expected that additional funds will be required at various times throughout the semester.
